Earth is a theatre. Every natural phenomenon is a show with a start time, and every vantage
point on the planet is a seat — and seats are not equal. This is a planning simulator for
working out where to stand: pick a show, pick a seat, scrub the clock, and
watch a canvas sky render the phenomenon from exactly that latitude, that horizon, that
light-pollution class and that moment.
What this tool actually does
Renders the sky from a chosen vantage point using a real solar and lunar position model,
a latitude-correct star field, and the Milky Way in its true orientation.
Draws twelve distinct phenomena — aurora curtains, eclipse corona, meteor streaks at a
rate driven by the seat’s limiting magnitude, the galactic core, bioluminescent
surf, noctilucent cloud, moonbows, comet tails, volcanic glow, lenticular alpenglow,
storm lightning and starling murmurations.
Compares vantage points on the trade-offs that actually decide a night: elevation, Bortle
class, horizon obstruction, historical cloud odds, and how much driving and hiking the
seat costs you.
Runs THE CHASE — a seeded route-planning game with an hours-and-kilometres budget, per-leg
travel costs, rolled weather and a graded ticket stub at the end.
What this is not. It is not a live forecast, not an ephemeris, and not a
booking engine. Cloud figures are climatological likelihoods for the place and season.
Eclipse contact times are modelled approximations. There are no prices, no availability and
no affiliate links here. Verify real circumstances against an authoritative source before
you travel.
The programme
14 shows, 112 vantage points. Every place listed is real and the
coordinates are real; the conditions attached to them are curated estimates for the site and
season, not a forecast. Each show has a seat guide comparing every
vantage point.
